Company LG Electronics today announced that visitors to the exhibition CES 2015 will be able to see the latest ultra-definition televisions made by technology of quantum dots.
Quantum dots - a semiconductor nanocrystals that glow under the influence of the current. The emitted color depends on the size of the dots and the material from which they are made. In the case of panels LG nanocrystals size ranges from 2 to 10 nanometers.
TV on the quantum dots on color reproduction and image quality comparable to OLED-displays. But their price can be significantly lower.
It is noted that LG is preparing a TV quantum dot with a diagonal of 55 and 65 inches. Their resolution is 3840 × 2160 pixels (format Ultra HD / 4K). These panels complement the range of LCD / LED-TV.
